The Eladio Diaz 73th Aniversario LXXIII Toro Extra represents an annual personal milestone blend crafted by legendary master blender Eladio Diaz to celebrate his 73rd birthday. Produced at his family facility, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera in the Dominican Republic, this limited edition 6x54 Toro Extra combines a silky Ecuadorian wrapper with private reserve Dominican long-fillers aged specifically for his personal vault releases. The smoke delivers an intricate, evolving balance of cedar, roasted nuts, coffee, sweet baking spices, and dark cocoa. It pairs exceptionally well with a fine Speyside single malt scotch, an aged dark rum, or a double espresso.

First Third: The cigar opens with an immediate aura of luxury, treating the palate to highly refined toasted cedar wood, subtle baking spices reminiscent of cinnamon, and a clean base of dry earth. The retrohale provides an elegant contrast, carrying smooth waves of white pepper and a faint, sweet natural tobacco quality.

Second Third: Transitioning smoothly into the center section, the overall profile turns significantly creamier and sweeter. Distinct characteristics of soft leather, rich nougat, and roasted almonds take the lead, while a light minerality appears briefly on the finish before fading cleanly into the background.

Final Third: The final third scales up in flavor depth, settling into a sturdy, full-bodied medium character. Deep, heavily toasted cedar wood and dark baker's cocoa harmonize beautifully with an increased black pepper component and an earthy foundation. The smoke remains velvety, ending with an extraordinarily clean and fragrant woodsy aftertaste.
